In the latest video from Doctor Liza's channel, she's joined by a gorgeous Ruru, or Morepork, which is a New Zealand native owl. This little guy was brought in after being hit by a car, but he's going to be fine.

Molting a little early

At this time of the year ARRC receives a number of our gorgeous little blue penguins (Kororā). This little guy had starting malting a little early which can be a problem as they can't be safe in the water as they are not waterproof.

They have spent the last few weeks with one of our fosters getting lots of fish (lots!!).

Kororā - little blue penguins - are the smallest penguin in the world and we are very lucky to have them grace our shores in many places around New Zealand. This little guy came from Waihi Beach so will be released back there when ready.

They are currently eating anywhere between 14 - 16 fish a day so can get through quite a lot of food to ensure they keep a good layer of fat. Super cute.
